Food, Finance & Fitness Workshop = Fantastic!

After working to develop a workshop format for “Food, Finance and Fitness” the Think Pink Team were excited to pilot this program on Tuesday 14th August, 2018.  This format was created following client feedback during other single information sessions on these subjects.

The aim was to present a relevant and succinct overview of the latest information on diet, financial considerations and how to exercise to enhance treatment and overall wellbeing following a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Presentations by well-respected experts (supporting Think Pink with their time and expertise) were: Dale Ischia, Exercise Physiologist and Cancer Exercise Specialist – Moving Beyond Cancer; Ryan Surace, Oncology Dietitian – Epworth Healthcare and Dishna Wijenayake, Financial Advisor – Brillo Wealth Management.  We are grateful for their generosity of time and passion to share their knowledge in their respective fields. Our programs are provided to clients free of charge and we are thankful for those that work with us to deliver a quality program.

This inaugural workshop was well attended, participants enjoyed a healthy lunch provided, engaged well with he speakers and content and we received some fantastic feedback:

“Excellent opportunity to learn about diet, finance and exercise when facing cancer. There is so much information out there. These presentations made it clearer and helped me move forward. Much appreciated to be given this opportunity. Thank you Think Pink. You are an incredible resource.” – Judy

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Food, Finance and Fitness Day. The information given was positive and invaluable for me to take control and do my best to remain healthy and avoid a repeat cancer diagnosis. All this in the comfortable, safe environment of The Living Centre.” – Carole

Planning is underway to incorporate this Workshop into our next quarterly Program and continue to refine the content as appropriate, in response to ongoing feedback.
