Second Hope Support Group via Zoom with guest speaker – 22 May

For our May group, we will be joined by Leanne Kelly from Omico. Omico is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation that is changing the way we fight cancer by accelerating access to precision oncology trials.

Omico is committed to fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration with patients. It aims to support the groundbreaking opportunity provided by PrOSPeCT (Precision Oncology Screening Platform enabling Clinical Trials), ensuring that people living with advanced or incurable cancer can have accelerated access to personalised medicine, including free comprehensive genomic profiling.

It aims to provide free comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) for up to 23,000 Australians with advanced or incurable cancer by the end of 2025.

Omico has recently welcomed Leanne Kelly as a new team member in patient engagement. Leanne will attend our next support group to raise awareness about PrOSPeCT and CaSP including how the program operates, the patient experience, eligibility criteria for CGP and how patients can access this groundbreaking initiative.

This support group offers understanding and education to women at all stages of Metastatic Breast Cancer.

In this group you will have an opportunity to meet others who are travelling a similar life path and to share your experiences. This group offers women a chance to connect with others, learn coping strategies and gather information with women that understand the challenges you and your family face living with a diagnosis of Metastatic Breast Cancer.

We discuss how we can best support you through this journey.  The sessions are a safe space to share, learn and help each other get through this hurdle. The sessions are run by our Breast Care Nurse Consultant Jamie Kelly and we are often joined by a guest speaker to offer their expertise on a particular breast cancer topic or health related topic.
